A child's potential should never be determined by their zip code.

In the United States, the school a child attends is determined by where their family can afford to live. School quality — the depth of curriculum, teacher experience, available resources — is directly tied to the economic condition of the surrounding neighborhood.

A child born into a low-income community doesn't choose their school. They inherit it. And with it, they inherit the limitations of an educational environment that was never designed to unlock their full potential.

This is not a problem caused by the children. It should not be paid for by the children.

"Children don't choose where they're born. They shouldn't pay for it."

— Han Q., Founder & CEO, Lumora AI

Why this gap persists — and who pays the price

The cycle is structural. It repeats across generations — until something breaks it.

The Cycle that shouldn't define a child 💸 Low family income Limited financial resources 🏘️ Low-income zip code Residential segregation 🏫 Underfunded schools Lower tax base = fewer resources 📉 Weaker outcomes Limited opportunity & growth 👩‍🏫 Lower quality teaching Fewer experienced educators 🧠 Cognitive isolation Narrowed intellectual horizon ✦ Lumora AI Equal access to world-class learning breaks the cycle

Light + New Beginnings

The name Lumora combines light and new beginnings — the belief that AI can be the great equalizer in education, shining the same light of opportunity on every child regardless of circumstance.

🌍

Join us in closing the gap

Be the first to know when Lumora AI launches.

Built with purpose.
Driven by mission.

Lumora AI was founded by entrepreneurs who believe technology can — and should — be a force for equity in education.

Lumora AI was founded in 2026 by Han Q., a technology and business entrepreneur with more than 30 years of experience building companies across technology, education, and social impact sectors. After years of direct observation — visiting rural communities across the United States — Han saw firsthand how a child's educational opportunity is determined by the economic circumstances of their birth.

Lumora AI is the culmination of that conviction: a company that combines state-of-the-art artificial intelligence with the belief that every child deserves the same quality of education historically available only to the privileged few.

About the Role

Lumora AI is seeking a Technical Project Manager (Education Technology) to lead the foundational product work that will define our AI-powered K-12 learning platform. This is not a supporting role — it is the starting engine of everything we build. As our first product hire, you will own product strategy, user research, data analysis, roadmap definition, and the hiring and onboarding of our engineering and design team.

You will work directly with our CEO and Technology Advisor to translate Lumora AI's mission — closing the K-12 education gap through AI — into a technically sound, pedagogically grounded, and data-driven product.

What You'll Do
  • Design and execute quantitative market research frameworks; build statistical models to analyze student behavior, learning patterns, and user segments across socioeconomic contexts using SQL and data analysis tools
  • Lead structured user research with students, parents, and teachers across public, private, rural, and urban school contexts; translate findings into data-backed product requirements
  • Define the full product scope, author detailed PRDs, manage the product backlog, and maintain the roadmap using Jira — aligned to engineering sprint cycles and business objectives
  • Design A/B testing frameworks, define statistical significance thresholds, and use inferential methods and Mixpanel/Amplitude to validate product decisions and measure outcomes
  • Build and maintain Tableau dashboards to track key product metrics, learning outcomes, and engagement data; present data-driven insights to the CEO
  • Develop Lumora AI's strategy for engaging Title I school districts, nonprofit partners, and underserved communities — requiring deep understanding of public sector systems and social equity dynamics
  • Define hiring requirements for UI/UX Designer, AI/ML Engineer, and Marketing Specialist; conduct interviews and make recommendations to the CEO; onboard and manage the team's day-to-day priorities
🛠️ Tools & Technologies
SQL Jira Tableau Figma Mixpanel / Amplitude Confluence / Notion Google Analytics Excel / Google Sheets
What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor of Science in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a directly related quantitative field — required. Degree in a non-quantitative field does not satisfy this requirement.
  • Advanced degree (MBA, MPA, or equivalent) — strongly preferred
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification — required. Demonstrates mastery of project lifecycle management and structured product governance.
  • Strong quantitative skills are essential: statistical inference, data modeling, experimental design, and comfort interpreting complex datasets using SQL, Tableau, or equivalent tools
  • Demonstrated experience with Jira for sprint and backlog management; Figma for design review and wireframing; and analytics platforms (Mixpanel, Amplitude, or Google Analytics)
  • Genuine passion for education equity and the challenges facing underserved K-12 communities — this mission must resonate personally, not just professionally
  • Experience in or adjacent to public sector, nonprofit, or social impact organizations — a meaningful plus given the nature of our partnerships
  • Proven ability to lead product discovery, author PRDs, run agile sprints, and translate between technical teams and non-technical stakeholders
Why Join Lumora AI 🚀
  • Build something that genuinely matters — a product designed to close one of the most persistent inequities in American education
  • Be the first product hire — you define what Lumora AI becomes from the ground up
  • Work directly with the CEO on every major decision — no layers, no bureaucracy
  • H-1B visa sponsorship available for qualified candidates
